About us

MHBC is an interdenominational Christian non-profit, community based organization rendering health, social and spiritual services to the community. The aim is to fulfill Christ’s great commission by helping the chronically ill, the orphans and vulnerable in Mpatamatu and surrounding areas through a Home Based Care program and Life Skills training.

The core of Mpatamatu Home Based Care is to establish a Christian community care projects throughout Zambia, which provides holistic care to orphans and the terminally ill.

Mpatamatu Home Based Care has 7 projects in Mpatamatu, Fisenge, Misaka, Kafubu Block, Masaiti, Kawama and Mwaiseni.

Main Activities

Care: The  volunteers of MHBC regularly visit OVC:s (Orphans and Vulnerable Children), giving educational, psychosocial, nutritional, material, spiritual, legal and health support.
Health Services: MHBC provides management of pain and early treatment of opportunistic infections and laboratory services.
Prevention: HIV/AIDS testing and counseling, ART (Anti-Retroviral Treatment) outreaches, Support group for PLWHA:s, Peer education and Sensitizing the community.

Life Skills Training – Mpatamatu Business and Technical College

Life Skills to the OVC:s are provided by training programs under Mpatamatu Technical and Business College. Currently the available trainings are:

  • Automotive Mechanics
  • Cutting and Tailoring
  • Food and Beverage Production
  • Metal Fabrication
